Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 500 block of North Curlew Road in Salisbury shortly after 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, following reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies secured the scene and rendered life-saving aid until paramedics arrived, according to a spokesperson from the sheriff's office.
The victim was rushed to Tidal Health, where she is now listed in stable condition despite the severity of her injuries, officials said on Monday, Nov. 18.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 32-year-old Dequan Maurice Bratten, also of Salisbury. An arrest warrant has been issued for Bratten, but as of Monday afternoon, he remains at large.
Law enforcement officials are urging the public to come forward with any information about Bratten’s whereabouts by calling (410) 548-1776.
